In August 2022, Precious Inspire launched the Students Training and Education Project (STEP), a transformative initiative made possible through the support of Global Youth Mobilisation and its partners. The STEP initiative aims to empower young people from remote, underserved communities who have dropped out of school, providing a nurturing platform to bridge the learning gaps exacerbated by the pandemic. Through engaging reading and writing programmes, we encourage children to rediscover their love for learning, with the ultimate goal of reintegrating them into formal education.

Centred in Mafi Dekpoe, the project has reached six communities within the Adidome District of the Central Tongu Constituency in Ghana’s Volta Region. An inspiring success story emerged when several teen mothers volunteered to participate. Among them, one young mother felt inspired to pursue her education once again, despite significant challenges as a single parent of a two-year-old. With the support of her grandmothers, she moved to a different village and enrolled in John Doeswijck Memorial Junior High School in Kete Krachi, where she received unwavering encouragement from her teachers and the school’s headmistress.

Today, we celebrate the dedication of the staff at John Doeswijck Memorial JHS for their compassion and consistent guidance, which fostered academic success. The cohort achieved an impressive aggregate score ranging from 12 to 27, and we could not be prouder of their achievements. Most notably, our resilient young mother not only persevered against the odds but excelled—earning an impressive aggregate score of 17 and gaining admission to Nifa Secondary School!

As Precious Inspire applauds this inspiring journey, we invite you to join us in empowering more students who are overcoming obstacles in pursuit of their dreams. Your support can make a life-changing difference, enabling us to provide crucial resources for their educational success.

Help us continue this vital work. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to helping students reach their fullest potential. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to changing lives!
